Westchester square, even to the present day, appears to be a small town hub, clustering around the triangle formed by westchester, east tremont and lane avenues. Westchester square is a residential neighborhood geographically located in the eastern section of the new york city borough of the bronx. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are: East tremont avenue and silver street, blondell avenue and westchester creek to the east, waterbury avenue to the south and castle hill avenue. Westchester square, located in the eastern part of the bronx, is a historic neighborhood known for its charming atmosphere and rich cultural heritage.

Westchester square is a densely urban neighborhood (based on population density) located in bronx, new york. The neighborhood surrounds the triangle caused by the confluence of two major roads, westchester avenue and east tremont avenue at westchester creek, which here is buried underground but figured in a revolutionary war battle. What is now the bronx used to be part of westchester county and was ceded to the city of new york over time. The department of city planning (dcp) is proposing to rezone 17 full blocks and portions of 19 blocks in the northeastern bronx neighborhood of westchester square in community district 10. Additionally, dcp proposes to modify commercial overlay districts throughout the neighborhood.
